Specialty spring and fastener manufacturer MW Industries acquired Hi-Performance Fastening Systems, a manufacturer of precision products for the appliance, automotive, communication, and housing markets.

Founded 1989, Bensenville, IL-based Hi-Performance Fastening Systems products include cold headed fasteners, thread forming screws, and pre-assembled screw and SEMS. 

The company's first location was a 3,000 sq ft facility located in Bensenville. By 1991 the company had moved into a 7,500 sq ft building in Elk Grove Village. Eventually Hi-Performance Fastening Systems moved to a 25,000 sq ft facility by O'Hare International Airport. 

"Hi-Performance Fastening Systems has a solid reputation in servicing the demands of the small to medium size fastener community with high quality products and excellent service," stated MW Industries CEO Bill Marcum. 

"The company's products and work force are highly complementary to our existing business base, and as part of the MW family of companies, we believe that Hi-Performance Fastening Systems is better positioned to penetrate our existing markets, including consumer, transportation, and various industrial markets."

Rosemont, IL-based MW Industries provides highly engineered springs, specialty fasteners, machined parts and other precision components to more than 23,000 customers in over 35 countries. Markets include the medical, aerospace, electronics, agriculture/construction, automotive replacement, military and energy industries.

MW Industries is a portfolio company of private equity firm Genstar Capital.
